BENEFICIARIES
The beneficiaries of the low-income starter houses must meet at least one of the fallowing minimum requirement:
- Extreme poverty, vulnerable and no income;
- Not having their own house, or house in extreme dilapidation;
- Single parent or persons with disability, elderly;
- Unemployed or Underemployed;
- Access to property.
The application are submitted to the MIDH for review and vetting for compliance. Once applications meet the minimum requirement they are prepared and sent to a Selection Committee final scrutiny, selection and possible approval.
The Selection Committee consists of seven (7) members’ representative of stakeholders in the housing and human development sectors:
- MIDH – Chair
- Ministry of Human Development
- National Association of Village Councils (NAVCO)
- Min of finance-Office of the Prime Minister
- Belize Red Cross Society
- Ministry of Natural Resources
- Churches of Belize
